Boss OC-5 Octave Pedal — Three Octaves of Tracking

Powered by the latest BOSS real-time processing, this pedal brings unmatched octave sound and versatility to any rig. The newly developed tracking engine is engineered for clean, accurate response without latency, so you can dial in deep sub-bass or intricate chord voicings at will. Included are a 9V alkaline battery and a manual so you can start performing immediately after unboxing.

What Stands Out on the OC-5

With two distinct operating modes — Vintage and Poly — you have access to both the iconic OC-2 mono character and modern polyphonic chord tracking in one device. In Poly mode, the Range knob allows you to target only the lowest note in a chord with the octave effect, transforming your guitar into a bass-melody hybrid. Adding an octave-up via the +1 OCT knob opens up rich 12-string textures. The Guitar/Bass switch tunes the tracking to your chosen instrument.

Tracking Engine and Mode Architecture

Sharing its real-time processing platform with BOSS's flagship multi-effects, the tracking engine ensures clean performance even with bends and rapid picking. Many musicians praise the latency-free response for both stage and studio work.

• Tracking Engine: Newly developed real-time processor with no audible latency
• Switch between Vintage mono OC-2 emulation or Poly mode with Range control to tailor your sound
• Range Control: Variable knob, lowest setting isolates effect to bottom note of chord

Connectivity, Power, and Bypass

To support flexible setups, three 6.3 mm jacks — Input, Output, and Direct Out — provide wet/dry routing for dual-amp rigs or splits between front-of-house and monitors.

• Inputs: 6.3 mm jack (1 M ohm impedance)
• Route your signal through a 6.3 mm main output or use the 6.3 mm Direct Out for parallel processing
• Bypass: Buffered bypass
• Power: 9V battery (6LR61) or PSA-series adaptor, 60 mA draw

Controls and Physical Design

Every major function is mapped to a dedicated knob or switch, avoiding menus and presets so you can shape your sound in seconds.

• Dimensions: 73 mm × 129 mm × 59 mm
