Cordoba C3M Classical Guitar — Warm Nylon-String Tone in a Handcrafted Package

The Cordoba C3M is a full-size, handcrafted classical guitar from the Iberia Series that brings traditional Spanish construction to an accessible price point. Its solid cedar top and mahogany back and sides produce the warm, mellow character that defines nylon-string playing, while traditional fan bracing keeps the response balanced across the fingerboard. The C3M is the right choice for students and advancing players who want a durable, great-sounding classical guitar without stepping into professional-tier pricing.

What Sets the C3M Apart in the Entry-Level Classical Category

Most guitars in this tier use laminated tops, but the C3M ships with a solid Western Red Cedar soundboard that opens up and sweetens with play. A hand-inlaid wooden rosette, Pau Ferro top binding, and nickel-plated tuners with pearl buttons give it the visual refinement of much costlier hand-built instruments. The "M" in the name signals the satin matte finish, which keeps the guitar light in the hand and reduces stage glare under performance lighting.

Tonewoods and Body Geometry — Player Benefits

The combination of tonewoods and body dimensions shapes everything a player feels under the fingers and hears from the soundhole. Cedar is known for immediate response and a warm, woody color, while mahogany adds focused midrange and clear note separation. The body geometry follows the traditional Spanish classical template, giving the instrument its recognizable voice and projection.

• Top Material: Solid Western Red Cedar — immediate attack and warm overtones that mature with playing time
• Back and Sides: Mahogany — focused midrange and clear note-to-note definition for fingerstyle passages
• Bracing Pattern: Spanish fan bracing — allows the top to vibrate freely for balanced, lively response
• Body Depth: 95 mm upper bout / 100 mm lower bout — standard Spanish classical depth for full-bodied projection

Neck, Fingerboard, and Playability — Player Benefits

A comfortable neck profile and traditional classical nut width make the C3M approachable for learners transitioning from steel-string guitars. The dual-action truss rod allows fine adjustment for changing climates and string tensions, while bone at the nut and saddle keeps the string-to-bridge energy transfer efficient. Pau Ferro on the fingerboard offers a smooth playing surface with a tight, even grain.

• Scale Length: 650 mm — standard classical scale for proper string tension and nylon-string voicing
• Nut Width: 52 mm — traditional classical spacing that gives right-hand fingers room for clean rest-stroke technique
• Neck Material: Mahogany — stable, straight neck with a C-shape profile suited to classical posture
• Fingerboard: Pau Ferro — smooth, dense surface with mother-of-pearl position markers at frets 5, 7, 9, and 12

Hardware, Strings, and Finish — Player Benefits

The hardware and finishing touches on the C3M are chosen to support stable tuning and a refined playing experience. Factory-fitted Savarez Cristal Corum High Tension 500CJ strings are a respected choice among classical players for clarity and projection. The satin polyurethane finish protects the tonewoods while keeping the guitar lightweight and visually understated.

• Strings: Savarez Cristal Corum High Tension 500CJ — bright, projecting nylon set ready to play out of the box
• Tuning Machines: Nickel-plated with pearl buttons — smooth, accurate tuning with a traditional look
• Nut and Saddle: Bone — efficient string energy transfer for clean note attack and sustain
• Finish: Satin Polyurethane — light, glare-free, and durable for daily practice and performance
