Cantus Crossgrade — A Real Gregorian Choir

Cantus Crossgrade is the crossgrade edition of Cantus, the Gregorian choir library in Eduardo Tarilonte's vocal series, for registered owners of Mystica, Shevannai or Kwaya. Cantus offers a real Gregorian monk ensemble featuring the sounds of the dark Middle Ages and lets composers create their own liturgical melodies without relying on fixed phrases.

Phrase-Arranger and Articulations

At the heart of the library is the Phrase-Arranger, which combines 24 words, split into a total of 120 words and syllables, with five true Gregorian-style legato vowels (a, e, i, o, u) and a special Mmmh articulation, all in one patch. Words are available in three articulations (staccato, fast and slow) and can be played with true legato while the matching vowel is selected automatically. A collection of 20 Gregorian chants split into 400 phrases, 60 minutes of music and 19 soundscapes created from vocal samples complete the library.

Cantus Crossgrade suits composers and sound designers who already own Mystica, Shevannai or Kwaya and need a believable sacred choir for film, documentary, game or new age projects. Combined with Mystica, it forms a mixed choir.
