Boss KATANA 25 Modelling Gitarrencombo

Boss KATANA-25: Compact Modeling Combo for Home Playing

The Boss KATANA-25 is a 25-watt modeling guitar combo amplifier engineered for home practice and everyday playing where portability matters as much as tone. Built around BOSS's Tube Logic design philosophy, the amp pairs a custom 20 cm (8-inch) speaker with a reactive analog power section to recreate the dynamic feel of a cranked tube stack at manageable volumes. Integrated Bluetooth, a class-compliant USB-C interface, and a deep effects library let a single combo replace a pedalboard for many players. The Boss KATANA-25 is the right choice for guitarists who want authentic Katana amp tones, wireless tone editing, and direct-to-computer recording in a 4.8 kg package.

What Sets the KATANA-25 Apart in the Practice Amp Category

Two design choices distinguish this combo from typical entry-level practice amps. The selectable Power Control switch toggles between full 25 W output and a 0.5 W half-watt mode, letting players dial in saturated, cranked-amp breakup at neighbor-friendly levels without losing dynamic response. The integrated Bluetooth connection handles both audio streaming for jamming along to songs and a wireless link to the companion BOSS Tone Studio app for editing sounds.

Power Section and Amp Modeling — Real Tube Feel in a Digital Combo

The reactive analog power stage and Tube Logic voicing give the KATANA-25 the touch-sensitive response that defines the Katana family. Six distinct amp characters cover sparkling cleans through high-gain “brown sound” tones, with each character offering further tonal variations accessible from the front panel, and one character is tuned specifically for acoustic-electric instruments.

• Rated Power Output: 25 W — analog power section with BOSS Tube Logic design
• Power Control: 0.5 W / 25 W switchable — cranked-amp tone at bedroom levels
• Amp Characters: 6 with variations — from clean to high-gain, including a dedicated acoustic-electric character
• Speaker: 20 cm (8 inches), custom design — full-range response in a compact open-back cabinet

Onboard Effects and Tone Shaping — A Pedalboard Inside the Combo

Over 60 BOSS effects are available through the panel and the companion app, with up to five running simultaneously. The three-band EQ (Bass, Middle, Treble) provides quick tone shaping, and a dedicated tap tempo button keeps delay effects locked to the player's beat. Thirty Tone Setting memories (20 preset plus 10 user) make it easy to store custom rigs for instant recall between sessions.

• Effects Library: 60+ BOSS effects, 5 simultaneous — full selection via BOSS Tone Studio app
• EQ Section: 3-band (Bass, Middle, Treble) — fast, intuitive tone sculpting from the front panel
• Tone Setting Memories: 30 total (20 preset + 10 user) — store custom rigs for instant recall
• Reverb: Yes — onboard alongside delay effects synced by the tap tempo button

Bluetooth, USB-C, and Footswitch Integration — Modern Connectivity for Practice and Recording

The KATANA-25 is built for the way modern guitarists actually play: streaming backing tracks from a phone, recording directly into a DAW, and switching presets hands-free. The class-compliant USB-C port sends audio directly to a computer or mobile device, and Bluetooth handles both audio playback and the wireless link to the companion app. A dedicated headphone output keeps late-night practice quiet.

• Bluetooth: Yes — stream songs and edit tones wirelessly
• USB Interface: USB Type-C, class-compliant — direct recording to computer or mobile device
• Headphone Output: 3.5 mm mini jack (Phones/Rec Out) — silent practice
• Footswitch / Expression Input: Yes — compatible with FS-5L, FS-6, FS-7, EV-30, Roland EV-5; wireless FS-1-WL and EV-1-WL

Who Should Buy the Boss KATANA-25

The KATANA-25 is the right choice for home players, apartment dwellers, and bedroom producers who need genuine tube-amp feel and deep effects without the noise or weight of a full stack. Beginners benefit from the 20 ready-to-play presets and the onboard tuner, while intermediate players can dig into the BOSS Tone Studio app for deeper sound design and share custom tones through BOSS Tone Exchange. The 4.8 kg weight and 360 × 180 × 310 mm footprint make it easy to move between rooms, and the 0.5 W Power Control mode keeps late-night practice sessions apartment-friendly. Acoustic-electric players get a dedicated amp character optimized for their instrument, making this combo a versatile single-amp solution for hybrid setups.
